Today at the Descartes Global User Group Conference, Bestrane was recognised with an Excellence and Achievement award.

This award, presented by Ed Ryan, Executive VP of Global Field Operations, recognises the achievements made by Bestrane to extend the reach of Descartes solutions in to new industry segments by adding mobility applications, such as Bestrane MobileDock to the Descartes Global Logistics Network.

Bestrane MobileDock enables customers to manage the execution of gate, yard and dock activities, recording each stage of on-site time. Bestrane MobileDock integrates directly in to Descartes Dock Appointments, where Carriers and Suppliers can request dock delivery/pickup times and receive immediate and automatic approval of requests. Descartes Dock Appointments will consider existing workload, dock door constraints, and proposed load details to automatically allocate requests to compatibale dock doors, calculating the amount of service time required.

Bestrane MobileDock picks up on these bookings to manage on-site activities according to customer workflows, gather additional field data as required at each point. All status updates and data is immediately recorded in Descartes Dock Appointments, and available to other online users through Descartes Dock Appointments and Bestrane MobileDock. Data relating to Chain of Responsibility (COR), Security, and Inventory is used for reporting and alerting in real-time.
