JB HiFi Group brings together two of Australia’s best known and trusted retail brands, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys.
With over 300 retail stores and around 13,000 employees nationally, JB Hi-Fi focuses on electronics and entertainment, whilst The Good Guys, specializes in home appliances and electronics.
Both brands offer products & services at great prices combined with genuine personal service from their specialist staff.
The Challenge
The continuing sales growth and the resulting increase in the number of inbound deliveries to their bulky goods Home Delivery Centres (HDCs) created a range of operational challenges for JB HiFi Group.
The HDCs were using basic scheduling techniques for incoming deliveries which made it difficult to efficiently schedule and manage inbound areas, track supplier delivery performance and to have real-time visibility of the stock arriving on each booked truck.
JB HiFi Group were seeking a solution that would allow them to more efficiently manage their inbound scheduling and provide them with real-time forward visibility of the specific products and quantities of their inbound deliveries.

The Solution
JB HiFi Group selected MobileDOCK to address their operational and reporting challenges in relation to inbound deliveries to their HDCs.
Mobiledock connects a location to its logistics community enabling highly automated scheduling and execution of commercial deliveries subject to each site’s constraints.
Mobiledock is a fully hosted, cloud-based web application.Its intuitive web-based design, and ease of configuration has been built to minimise any setup costs and allow the rapid and global deployment of solution.
Mobiledock core capabilities were targeted toward removing the manual work involved in scheduling the inbound deliveries, capturing inbound product information, and tracking supplier and carrier inbound performance.
JB HiFi Group also utilise Mobiledock's unique and industry leading ‘Documents’ capability which provides the suppliers and their carriers with accurate and detailed information for every open Purchase Order they need to deliver.
Enabled through Mobiledock's APIs and integration with JB HiFi Group’s systems - this information is updated in real-time and allows JB HiFi Group Suppliers and their carriers to specifically identify which items they will be delivering and when these will be delivered to the HDCs.
The combination of the carriers receiving dedicated access to fulfill deliveries in a timely manner and suppliers specifically confirming exactly which products are being delivered has enhanced operational effectiveness and the ability of the JBHF Group Supply Chain to share inbound related data on a timely and accurate basis to internal stakeholders.
The Results
The implementation of Mobiledock has provided a broad range of benefits to JB HiFi Group, their suppliers and carriers, and their internal stakeholders.
The integration of the PO data into the booking process has greatly improved the accuracy of the information provided by suppliers and reduced the risks of suppliers delivering products to the HDCs in advance of an expected due date.
Carriers gain clear access to the loading docks at the times they have selected through the booking process – which has helped improve turnaround times generally.
The booking portal has also reduced the time-consuming tasks required in scheduling the inbound deliveries as the suppliers and carriers now confirm their own delivery times through Mobiledock .
Supplier delivery related performance reporting is enabled through Mobiledock's capability to capture related data. This allows for insights to be made to direct where improvements can be made.
Most importantly however JB HiFi Group now have timely and accurate forward visibility of their incoming deliveries allowing them to provide clear and reliable information to internal stakeholders.
